Winx Club takes flight in South Africa

The popular animated series from Rainbow will now air across the territory with dolls hitting toy shelves in November.

Rainbow’s hit series Winx Club is heading to South Africa thanks to a new deal with ETV.

The broadcaster – one of the territory’s leading free-to-air channels – will be airing Winx Club series five and six from this month, while the launch will be accompanied with a marketing campaign across TV, press and digital media.

ETV will also be running a competition in partnership with Rainbow that will offer a few lucky fans the chance to win exclusive dolls, hitting the South African market from November.

“We are delighted ETV is beaming the magic of Winx Club into South African homes,” said Andrea Graciotti, head of sales and co-production at Rainbow. “The many Winx fans acros the country will be thrilled to see their favourite fairies on TV.”

Winx Club follows the adventures of a group of young fairies and combines action with adventure and comedy, targeting girls aged four to ten.

“The global success and following of The Winx Club is testament to the value that the brand offers. We hope that South African kids will grow to love the Winx fairies as much as the rest of the world,” said Shalamar Zandamela, OpenView HD marketing.
