Pan-Africa Studio Restless Global taps artists to create a stunning image

PanAfrican studio Restless Global (DISCOP Africa stand E9+10) took the corporate brochure game to a new level by tapping Olalekan Jeyifous, a Nigerian-born, Brooklyn-based freelance illustrator and visual artist to create a stunning image uniting several of the studio’s current projects and activities in one futuristic Lagos street scene.

The illustration shows some of the talents repped by the studio’s talent management agency (OC Ukeje, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Nana Mensah, Kehinde Bankole, Diana Yekinni, Anthony Oseyemi, Kivu Ruhorahoza), in-house productions (OGAS AT THE TOP, COLD HABOUR, THE TRADE), and titles sold by its distribution arm (AYANDA, 30 DAYS IN ATLANTA, MUM DAD MEET SAM).

In addition to creating visuals for a variety of clients such as Starbucks, Virgin America, and BASF, Jeyifous has exhibited at venues throughout the world including the MoMA, the New Museum of Contemporary Art, the Studio Museum in Harlem, La B.A.N.K. in Paris, The Drawing Center, and most recently the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, Germany and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain as part of the "Making Africa" exhibition.

“I first came across Lekan’s work two years ago” said Restless Global CEO Marie Lora-Mungai. “As we were looking for innovative ways to showcase the variety of our activities and the pioneering spirit of Restless Global, Lekan’s aesthetic imposed itself as the ideal choice. We are not your typical studio and this image clearly depicts that."

Launched in 2015 by media veterans Marie Lora-Mungai and Tendeka Matatu, Restless Global is the first integrated studio in Africa, engaged in every aspect of the content development, production and distribution pipeline through its various divisions (Restless Talent Management, Buni Media, Ten10 Films, Its 2016 production and distribution slates include numerous TV and feature film projects, with a focus on Nigeria and identifiable genres (comedy, romantic comedy, action/thriller).
