Married At First Sight SA gets a host and list of love specialists

Cape Town - We already know there’s a local version of popular reality show Married At First Sight being made for South Africa, and now we know who’ll be part of it.

Lifetime Africa and Oxyg3n Media have closed the call for entries and named the specialist contributors and a host for the series.

Oxyg3n Media's Rebecca Fuller-Campbellsaid, “We had an overwhelming response to our call for entries with close to 300 singletons all wanting to take part in the series. We are now in the process of selecting the men and women and preparing them for the day they will meet each other for the first time at the altar.”

In order to match the couples as scientifically as possible, in the hopes that they will find true love, the producers have selected a number of specialist experts who will work with, and closely monitor, the individuals before, during and after the filming process.

These include:

Neo Tshireletso Pule - a counselling psychologist

Dr Shingai Mutambirwa - a well known sex health specialist

Anna Trapido – an anthropological advisor.

Paula Quinsee – a relationship expert.

Gary Kayle – a financial coach

In addition to these five specialists, the producers have also named Sam Cowen as the series' facilitator.

Sam, whose 18 years on morning radio makes her the longest serving female breakfast show host in SA, she also presented parenting show Great Expectations and is the author of three bestselling books, including current bestselling From Whiskey To Water.

Of her new role Cowen says:”I am very excited to be a part of Married at First Sight SA and I am looking forward to watching our couples find true love both during and after filming ends. I am, and will always be, a hopeless romantic”

Married at First Sight South Africa will premiere on Lifetime (DStv 131) in the first quarter of 2017.
