beIN Media acquires digital platform Digiturk


It has been announced by beIN Media, the company operating the television network beIN Sports which is present in 36 countries including the Middle East North African countries. The company has acquired Digiturk, the Turkish major pay-TV operator.

Offering a collection of sports and entertainment content across 219 standard and high definition national channels, Digiturk also has the broadcasting rights for Turkey’s top soccer league until the end of the 2016-2017 season.

Having 3.3 million subscribers, Digiturk offers sports content including Spor Toto Super League, LaLiga Santander, France Ligue 1, France Coupe de La Ligue, Brazil Serie A, Turkish Airlines Euroleague, Spor Toto Basketball League, ATP Masters 1000 Tennis and a whole variety of top-class sports content. In addition, movies and series from famous studios like Disney, Paramount, 20th Century Fox, Warner Brothers, Universal, HBO and Lionsgate, are also available.

Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of beIN MEDIA GROUP, commented on the acquisition made by the company: “This acquisition represents the largest deal in the history of our group and a major milestone in our global expansion.
