NuVu provides a unique SVoD model for Africa

NuVu claims to be a unique mobile subscription video on demand service, created in response to online video challenges in developing markets. A complete end-to-end service, NuVu uses several modules of Ericsson’s Managed OTT services. NuVu includes a mobile application on top of Ericsson’s managed OTT platform, premium content from leading studios, managed OTT, origin storage, network policy management and CDN.
Maximising network coverage
Crucially, NuVu supports automatic download scheduling and offline viewing – a unique response to the limited network capacities and high data costs faced by users in developing markets. The offline scheduling component downloads content to end-user devices during off-peak hours, ensuring a balance in network load for the operator, and a cost-efficient service for subscribers, with excellent picture quality.

NuVu claims that no other fully-managed, turn-key solution exists for operators in developing markets wishing to launch an end-to-end, OTT service, and addressing their unique challenges. What’s more, NuVu comes with content – including 2,000-5,000 titles from major studios such as Fox, DreamWorks, MGM, CBS, Al Jazeera, DHX Media, MTV, Nickelodeon, BET and Mattel.
