Times Media Films brings Nollywood to the big screen

Times Media Films is proud to announce the theatrical distribution of three Nollywood films in South Africa. The booming Nigerian industry has been ranked the second highest film industry in the world and to support this, these three films will be hitting South African screens soon, spreading African content across the continent.

These African stories will be winning over the hearts and smiles of Africans and locals alike with a hot line up of romantic comedies to warm your heart in the upcoming months.

Filmed on South African soil, 10 Days in Sun City is the first TMF Nollywood film releasing in cinemas on 25 August 2017. The romantic comedy follows Bianca - a campus beauty queen - and Akpos - who has sacrificed his livelihood to invest in promoting her career. After successfully winning a national beauty pageant, Bianca, ever loyal to Akpos, is now an international celebrity rolling with society’s ‘high and mighty’. But ‘Otunba’ who is also invested in the beauty queen, follows Bianca to Sun City to win her over from Akpos.

The star-studded cast features Ayo Makun (popularly known as AY), Richard Mofe-Damijo, Adesua Etomi, Mercy Johnson, Falz The Bahd Guy. The film also features international actors Miguel Nunez Jr. and South African actress Amanda Du Pont, comedians Thenjiwe Moseley and Celeste Ntuli amongst others.

The second title is My Wife and I, releasing on 15 September 2017 - a comedy about a hilarious body swap that happens to a couple after a visit to a famous Pastor. Unable to switch back, Toyosi and Ebere are forced to masquerade as each other until a solution can be found.

The final release is The Wedding Party 2 on 15 December 2017 and is the sequel to The Wedding Party which to date is the biggest theatrical Nigerian-produced release in that country.
