London Film Festival:The Sutherland Award recognizing the director of the most original and imaginative first feature in the festival, went to John Trengove, whose film “The Wound” was described by the prize jury as a “dynamic and inimitable coming-of-age story that takes a heartbreaking look at masculinity and sexuality.”

It has been a dynamic journey through the making of Kenyan film 18 Hours. The resilience employed by rookie paramedic whom the film follows as he spends 18 hours in an ambulance for the life of a road crash victim has also been mirrored through the making of this film. The film, starring the stellar cast of Nick Ndeda, Sue Wajiru and Brian Ogola, will premier next month.
