DStv Angola Boosts Its Offering With The Introduction Of Viacom's Nickelodeon Kids Channel in Portuguese

MultiChoice Angola has announced that it has added Viacom's Nickelodeon kids channel in Portuguese to its DStv offering in the country, further widening Nickelodeon's reach across the African continent.

Nickelodeon in Portuguese is now available on the DStv Mega and DStv Bué packages in Angola.

MultiChoice Angola as a satellite pay-TV service, is operated by Jembas Assistência Tecnica as a franchise division in the country.

Nickelodeon in Portuguese was added in Angola on 4 March on DStv channel 573, with Viacom Africa making the official announcement of the addition of the channel on 8 March.

The Managing Director and Executive Vice President of BET International and Viacom International Media Networks Africa (VIMN Africa), Alex Okosi said that extending its brand offering in a more accessible and engaging way across Africa is critical to Viacom’s growth strategy. He added that the much-loved Nickelodeon brand in Portuguese would facilitate a more profound connection for families and kids in Angola.

MultiChoice Angola’s General Manager, Eduardo Continentino said that this channel would be a direct representation of DStv’s commitment to investing in Africa.

He noted that by customising an offer that better resonates and aligns with the needs of Angolan children and young audiences, DStv is showing that customers are indeed at the core of all decisions made.

The General Manager added that MultiChoice believes that this channel will add value to its existing channels grid.
