StarTimes To Bring 2019 African Freestyle Football Championships To 20 Million Viewers

Star TimesStarTimes, the official media partner of the 2019 African Freestyle Football Championships, has announced that it will transmit the competition to more than 20 million viewers.

The Public Relation Manager of StarTimes, Kunmi Balogun, made the revelation in a Lagos interview with journalists.

Balogun said that the 2018 edition of the games had been watched by eight million viewers; hence, the organisation hoped to beat its past record because of the increase in its subscription.

He said that he is confident that this year, StarTimes should be able to achieve 20 million viewers for the championships as the broadcast will be beamed on its channels, and right now, the StarTimes apps have already received about 15 million downloads.

Balogun said that freestyle football involves a lot of creativity which could be used as a means of empowering the youth and also encourage more females to participate in the sport as well.

Tidesports confirmed that the 2019 African Freestyle Football Championships would be taking place at the Balmoral Convention Centre, in the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos Island. The dates of the championship have been announced as 14 September to 15 September 2019.
