Telecom Egypt signs IPTV deal with Cable Network Egypt (CNE)

Telecom Egypt (TE) has announced the signing of a strategic partnership agreement with pay-TV operator Cable Network Egypt (CNE) which will enable it to provide TE customers with IPTV services in collaboration with ‘various’ content providers. Under the agreement TE will provide its customers with unique content and TV channels through an IPTV platform, with the telco saying it plans to market ‘numerous packages especially tailored to serve all customer segments and include content such as entertainment, sports, TV series, movies and kids channels, among others’.

Adel Hamed, TE Managing Director and CEO, said of the development: ‘I am very pleased to sign this agreement with CNE, which will enable us to deliver the latest services to our customers with the best customer experience possible … Telecom Egypt has chosen CNE as a partner due to its advanced technologies and expertise in the fields of encryption, distribution and subscription management using the latest internationally available systems in addition to its licence to encrypt and disseminate pay-TV services in the region.’
