One of South Africa's beloved telenovelas, The River, has received its first ever International Emmy nomination in the category of "Best Telenovela", according to IOL. The River will go up against other telenovelas from Columbia, Argentina as well as Portugal. The 47th installment of the International Emmy Awards will take place on November 25th of this year and will be held at the Hilton in New York.


The licensed series will be broadcasted on the Paramount Channel and the bouquet includes 75 episodes of Prime’s latest production Spotlight (250 x 2’30”) and 52 episodes of Prime’s best seller Hollywood On Set (52 x 26’) per year. In 2017, Paramount Channel introduced in the MENA region a package from Prime’s cinema related bouquet comprising of not just Hollywood On Set 52×26’ per year but also Zoom In (104 x 6’30”) per year and Stars (105 x 4’). A year later, the network additionally signed up for a new package of episodes from Hollywood On Set (pictured) along with Prime’s entertainment show Ultimate Countdown (13 x 45’) and an important range of exclusive interviews from Director’s Short Cut (250 x 4’) series.
