The BBC is looking to expand its reach across Africa and India as it looks to fight back against competition from digital streaming rivals such as Netflix, reports The Sunday Times.

The BBC is looking to form partnership with overseas broadcasters on shows and audio services. This could expand BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sounds radio/podcast app into new markets. Director-General Lord Hall has asked group managing director Bob Shennan to review its worldwide partnerships and develop new alliances.
