MultiChoice Renews Partnership With Viacom

MultiChoice and Viacom International Media Networks Africa (VIMN Africa) have announced the renewal of their distribution deal which focuses on the investment in local content and on delivering content that showcases the best of Africa’s talent and creativity.

VIMN Africa’s channels BET, MTV, Comedy Central, MTV Base, Nickelodeon, MTV Music 24, Nick Jr. and NickToons collectively offer a wide range of original entertainment content across all ages.

Alex Okosi, the Managing Director and Executive Vice President for BET International and VIMN Africa said that this continued collaboration demonstrates the shared commitment between MultiChoice and VIMN Africa to invest in international and local content that resonates with the audiences across the continent.

Yolisa Phahle, MultiChoice’s CEO for General Entertainment, said that As Africa’s most-loved storyteller, MultiChoice is pleased to renew the partnership with VIMN Africa in order to continue telling African stories in an authentic way.

VIMN Africa’s channels collectively offer exciting drama, music, comedy, animation, reality shows and biopics.

Okosi said that BET continues to celebrate black excellence with local biopics and will welcome its first locally produced sitcom, Black Tax, this year.
