Eutelsat Secures Multi-Year Contract With RCS Ghana

Eutelsat has announced that it has secured a multi-year contract with RCS Ghana to deliver capacity for the broadcasting of its DTH bouquet bringing content.

 

RCS will use the Ku-Band band capacity available on Eutelsat 7B to broadcast its FTA DTH bouquet, comprising of HD and SD channels, to Ghana’s market and more than 40 other countries in Africa.

 

More than 500 TV channels currently broadcast from 7 degrees East, which has become the new DTH hotspot for sub-Saharan Africa.

 

Commenting on the new development, Hamza Tanko, the CEO and Chairman of RCS Ghana said that RCS is delighted to join forces with Eutelsat for the broadcast of the RCS DTH bouquet, delivering excellent content to audiences in Ghana and beyond, and also enabling the transmission of many channels in Ghana at compelling rates and in high quality.

 

Nicolas Baravalle, the Regional VP for sub-Saharan Africa at Eutelsat, added that Eutelsat is proud to support RCS Ghana in the launch of this high-quality content offering. He said that the new contract reflected the buoyancy of Ghana’s broadcast market and Eutelsat’s top expertise in the African market.
