A small number of Africa’s state broadcasters have re-invented themselves for the digital age and as a consequence have sharpened their content offer. But in the main they have been the losers as the media landscape has changed. Russell Southwood looks at a new report on Kenya’s KBC that lays bare the problems it faces.
