The Cape Information Technology Initiative (CITI) said substantial upgrades had been made to its website as part of the drive to forge stronger links to the international ICT market, for the benefit of all ICT players.

CITI Marketing Manager, Judith Middleton, said the ultimate objective was to see the CITI portal become the definitive ICT database for South Africa. A Bandwidth Barn tenant, Biz-community.com, was chosen to create an ICT information portal that would serve a truly global ICT community. Biz-community.com manages websites for the advertising and marketing industry.

Middleton said: "The overriding purpose of the new portal was to create international exposure for the SA ICT industry though direct linkages to similar initiatives globally. "We have already had numerous enquiries from international Venture Capitalists and other industry players, for access to information on local ICT companies. It is extremely encouraging to see the global community taking such a keen interest in South Africa’s ICT sector."
