- Vodacom Business joins Telkom in hosting two new local broadband Speedtest.net serversThe Speedtest.net service has become the premier destination for Internet users to test the download and upload speeds of their broadband service. Speedtest.net has a multitude of testing servers across the globe – including in Cape Town and Johannesburg .Vodacom Business is the latest South African telecoms provider to launch their own Speedtest.net servers, hosted on Vodacom's core network. The company added two new servers, hosted in Midrand/Pretoria and Durban.
- MTN South Africa recently announced that it has upgraded its high-speed broadband service to reach announced speeds of 14.4Mbps HSDPA and 5.76Mbps HSUPA across its 3G and HSPA mobile broadband network.
