- The companies Digicel, T+ Telecomunicações, CVNet, SGPM and CVWiFi have won the public tender to award frequency usage rights for the provision of broadband wireless access (BWA) services, reports Cape Verde’s Inforpress news agency. Tender coordinator Ana Lima said the companies had been notified of the result and that the National Communications Agency (ANAC) was now preparing a document on the frequency usage right, for distribution to each of the five companies.

- A few changes have occured at Amatomu, the South Afrcican aggregrator recently, mostly that their are now under new management, and have launched a new complemantary service called Memeburn.

- Morocco ranked second in the Arab world for the growth rate of internet users in 2009, MAP reported citing a Google survey. Egypt was first with a growth rate of 20%, Morocco had 18% and Saudi Arabia was third with 17%. The number of internet users in the Arab world increased from 16 million in 2004 to 56 million in 2010, MAP noted.
