African Cellular Towers & Eskom power Lines – South Africa

Telecoms equipment manufacturer African Cellular Towers has won three projects worth R64m for Eskom power lines, it said last week. The new projects would boost ACTowers 's revenue, which plummeted in the year to February. The news lifted its share price, which soared 28.4% to close at 36c.

ACTowers said the first order was for the rerouting of two distribution lines at the Komati power station in Mpumalanga. The second was for the deviation of two existing lines to bypass the Zeus substation in Mpumalanga to alleviate overloading. The last order was to erect about 60km of distribution line from the Watershed substation in Lichtenburg to the Mmabatho substation in Mafikeng.

All projects will start this month, with the Watershed project expected to be completed in 12 months and the Komati and Zeus projects in four months and five months respectively.
