Minister of Information and Communications, Prof Dora Akunyili, has said that locally made computers are superior to imported ones. She therefore urged Nigerians to patronise the Made-in-Nigeria computers instead of relying on imported ones. Akunyili made this remark when she paid courtesy visit to Omatek Ventures Plc, makers of the Omatek brand of computers.

While observing that Made-in-Nigerian computers are customised and adapted to the local environment, she stressed that imported ones develop problems after being subjected to hot temperature.

The locally made computers, she said, would not break down because they have put into consideration the local weather. She said: "I would plead with Nigerians to buy Made-in-Nigeria computers, Omatek being one of them.".
