Nigeria: Sunnet, IBM Promise Business Efficiency With Dynamic Infrastructure, Cloud Computing

Sunnet, a technology solution provider that has long standing relationship with IBM, last week held a combined seminar in Lagos on its Dynamic Infrastructure and Cloud Computing, with a promise to boost business efficiency, security and cost reduction.

With the theme, 'Dynamic Infrastructure and Cloud Computing,' Chief Executive Officer, Sunnet Systems and Data Services, Paul Olagunju, said Nigeria could not pretend to be ignorant in today's technology that is converging and challenged Nigeria to take advantage of converged technology to improve the way businesses are transacted, aimed at boosting the nation's economy.

Dynamic Infrastructure, according to Olagunju, "is a concept and technology that will help organisations manage their infrastructure and deliver values to their customers. As a network operator, once the system is down, it affects a whole lot of businesses because customers will not be able to utilise the kind of services the service provider renders to its customers, resulting to loss of revenue both on the side of the customer and the service provider. Operators and service providers therefore need dynamic infrastructure that allows their operations to run effectively at reduced cost."

He explained that Cloud Computing Technology from Sunnet and IBM, complements the Dynamic Infrastructure Technology and that the concept is such that all structure and applications of the customer are centralised in the cloud so that they can be accessed via the Internet any time any where.

The whole essence of Cloud Computing, according to Olagunju "is to enable organisations manage their business more efficiently and reduce cost, and as well ensure that infrastructure risk are well managed."
