Gilat Satcom Donates Satellite Communication Equipment to Advance Education in Liberia

Gilat Satcom, a communication solution provider offering satellite and fiber-based connectivity services in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, has announced its donation of a VSAT communication system to connect a regional school for expansion of educational opportunities using the Internet.

Paynesville Community School in Joe bar, Liberia educates 1500 children. Using its well-equipped computer lab, the school provides modern education facilities. Gilat Satcom’s donation of a VSAT system enables the school to hook-up to the Internet and opens an enormous wealth of education opportunities to the faculty and students.

The excitement in the school is palpable. The teaching staff can’t wait to integrate the new opportunities into their curriculum. The students are eager to use the school’s computers to access all sorts of eLearning capabilities made possible by the donation.

“We are honored to make this contribution to education in Liberia. We are bringing world-class eLearning capabilities right into the computer lab where 1500 students will benefit,” said Alex Petropouliadis, Gilat Satcom’s VP Sales Africa.
Gilat Satcom teams with providers of eLearning content and delivery to promote eLearning opportunities especially in remote and underserved communities. This donation of a VSAT system promotes education and Internet access.
