* Etisalat Misr and Huawei - Egypt
Chinese vendor Huawei has announced that it has inked a deal with Egyptian telco Etisalat Misr to expand the operator’s mobile network; the contract will see Huawei build a wireless access network, core network and transmission network for Etisalat, expanding on the turnkey project that Huawei had also provided for the Egyptian operator in 2006. ‘We chose Huawei as our supplier when we got the third mobile licence in 2006. After two years development, we choose Huawei again for the network expansion. It will enable us to provide the best service quality to our subscribers.’ said Saleh Al Abduli, CEO of Etisalat Misr.
Correction: We quoted by mistake in last week’s issue that iBurst signed a deal with a company named Herzliya. In fact, iBurst has contracted with a company named FTS based in Herzliya.
