- The latest DMMA/Effective Measure statistics revealed that South Africa’s Internet users mostly speak English and Afrikaans at home. Effective Measure’s February 2013 demographics report showed that 66% of local Internet users speak English at home, while 42% spoke Afrikaans at home. 9% of Internet users in SA speak IsiZulu at home, while 5.5% speak IsiXhosa and 5.3% speak Setswana.

- Malawi: In a bid to increase access to information and technology Minister of Information, Moses Kunkuyu said Tuesday that the ministry will build more tele-centres across the country. Kunkuyu disclosed this in parliament when he was responding to a question raised by Member of Parliament for Chiradzulu North Constituency, Margret Mauwa that government should consider building a tele-centre at Mbulumbudzi Trading Centre. He said more tele-centres will be constructed during the period of phase two of the programme."Twenty sites have been earmarked for the construction of tele-centres across the country and government will do everything possible to implement this development project," Kunkuyu said.
