Sierra Leone parliament group questions ISPs over services
Members of Sierra Leone's Parliamentary Oversight Committee on Information and Communications have questioned the Diakem Investments, Ketraco and Thomas Global Technology (TGT) ISPs after concerns raised by the public regarding poor service, Foroyaa reported. In a letter written to the National Telecommunications Commission (NATCOM) and forwarded to all GSM and ISPs in the country, the committee demanded copies of legal documents including licences, payments made to the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) and return copies of payment made to the National Revenue Authority (NRA).
Chairman of the Committee Binneh Bangura said they are working assiduously to ensure that the needs of the people are met and that even though some of the companies are private owned, parliament has the right to summon them if they default. He said any company that has been registered with NATCOM must make sure they render quality services to the satisfaction of the general public.
