Wataniya Telecom Algeria, operating under the Nedjma brand, has reportedly selected the ten provinces to be covered exclusively by its 3G network, Agence Ecofin reports. According to the article, Nedjma’s representatives met with officials from the country’s telecoms watchdog the Autorite de Regulation de la Poste et des Telecoms (ARPT) to discuss the matter, although the names of the locations have not yet been confirmed; the 3G exclusivity will last one year.

Further, Nedjma CEO Joseph Ged said: ‘Nedjma will provide its customers the best 3G+ [coverage] from the start’, as the company reportedly pledged to deploy 3G in 25 provinces by the end of 2014, covering an estimated 80% of the Algerian population, excluding the ‘obligatory areas’, namely the towns of Algiers, Constantine, Oran and Ouargla.
