Swiss-based ISP YooMee Africa plans to launch LTE services in Cote d'Ivoire in May, Agence Ecofin reports, citing an announcement made at the Forum ICI 2014 event. The company has already invested EUR 5 million in deploying the network using Alcatel-Lucent equipment in Cote d'Ivoire.

It currently has 20,000 WiMAX customers in Cameroon and expects to attract twice or three times as many in Cote d'Ivoire by 2017.

Yann le Guen, the company's managing director in Cote d'Ivoire, estimates that there are around 100,00 broadband internet customers in the market dominated by MTN and Orange. After Cote d'Ivoire, YooMee will target Ghana, Angola and Rwanda.
