Computing – In Brief
- Kenya - Plans by the government to roll out laptops to class one pupils across the country might be hampered by lack of power in most schools. In a report handed to the Parliamentary Committee on Education last Friday, the ministry acknowledged that "e-readiness in primary schools is poor". The Education ministry said that only 2,037 primary schools are connected to the main grid. Another 8,147 schools are near the electricity grid while 10,184 will have to rely on solar power because they are far from the grid.
