Algeria: Djezzy GSM launches commercial 3G services

Algerian cellco Djezzy GSM has launched commercial 3.5G services in seven wilayas (provinces) across the country, Agence Ecofin reports. The operator offers HSPA+ services on both a pre-paid and post-paid basis; pre-paid users can access the network via the introductory ‘Speed Jour’ plan, which offers 50MB of mobile broadband access over a 24 hour period, priced at DZD100 (USD1.26).

Elsewhere, the premium ‘Speed Mois’ plan, which is valid for 30 days and includes 5GB of data, is priced at DZD4,000. Post-paid subscribers can sign up to the ‘Millenium 3G 1750’ plan, which comprises 500MB of data, 120 minutes of calls to all national networks, and unlimited calls to Djezzy numbers between 9pm and 7am, for DZD1,750, while the ‘Millenium 3G 6000’ plan consists of 2GB of data, 600 minutes of calls to all national networks, plus unlimited calls to Djezzy numbers, for DZD6,000 per month.
