Gmail now in Afrikaans, Zulu

Digital Content

Google has added 13 new languages to Gmail, including Afrikaans and Zulu.

This means that Afrikaans and Zulu speakers can now make use of the service in their mother tongue on the web and via feature phone browsers.

Other languages added to Gmail include Armenian, Azerbaijani, Chinese (Hong Kong), French (Canadian), Galician, Georgian, Khmer, Lao, Mongolian, Nepali and Sinhala.

These 13 languages bring to 71 the number of languages supported by Gmail.

Google advises users to simply visit their settings to switch to their preferred language.

It's not the first time that Google has offered Afrikaans and Zulu offerings, with the search engine featuring these options as well.

More recently, Google rolled out Afrikaans and Zulu support for Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Forms too.
