Orange Foundation funds Khan Academy platform in French

Internet

The Orange Foundation has spearheaded a project to create a French version of Khan Academy web platform for education. Orange is providing financial support for the project, with translation provided by Libraries Without Borders for the customised learning platform. The Khan Academy currently has over 10 million monthly users. After watching the video lessons, which cover the primary and secondary sciences curriculum, there are thousands of exercises to practice and test the skills students learn. Teachers and parents can also sign up and follow the children’s progress in real time.

After piloting the programme at around 10 academic institutions in France and Africa (Cameroon) in the spring of 2014, Libraries Without Borders and the Orange Foundation are joining forces to bring the learning method to the entire French-speaking world in thousands of schools, libraries and associations.
