Sao Tome's incumbent telco CST has been selected to provide high speed internet services to 26 secondary schools in the country. The win was part of a tender aimed at the two operators in the country and organised by AFAP, a unit of the Sao Tome Government that manages World Bank projects.

CST will by the end of the year connect all secondary schools via ADSL, fibre and 3G, giving both pupils and teachers free Wi-Fi access on mobile phones, tablets and PCs. The contract will run for at least five years.
