CV Movel, the largest cellco in Cape Verde, located some 570 kilometres off the coast of west Africa, has installed its third ‘multimedia centre’, providing public internet/computing access and other ICT facilities as part of efforts to reduce the ‘digital divide’ for underserved sections of society.

Telecompaper reports that the facility in the municipality of Calheta de Sao Miguel follows two similar launches in Ribeira Brava and Tarrafal in September, and CV Movel intends to open a total of 14 multimedia centres by the end of this month.
