Telkom Kenya is edging closer to a full roll-out of its GSM network as it has signed a deal with Alcatel-Lucent, to provide it with a system to manage subscriber information.
* Government and Thales - Angola
According to Thomson Financial, French defence electronics and security group Thales is close to winning a contract from the government of Angola to supply a secure telecoms network. Citing French state officials, Reuters said the deal, worth approximately EUR140 million (USD218 million), is amongst a slew of Angolan contracts won by French firms in various sectors expected to be announced tomorrow.
