Afrihost is now offering fixed LTE routers to its subscribers, with various data package options.

Afrihost has unveiled its “Fixed Mobile LTE” solution, which is basically an LTE router with the option of different data packages.

The service is aimed at customers who cannot get Telkom’s DSL service, but are looking for the functionality and stability of a traditional DSL router.

The company is offering the Huawei B593 for a promotional price of R1,499 to the first 200 customers. Thereafter the device will sell for R1,999.

“Clients will be able to combine the device with a mobile data package of their choice,” said Afrihost.

The company is advertising three monthly data packages with its fixed mobile LTE service:

    500MB – R29
    3GB – R145
    8GB – R397

Afrihost said it will deliver the router and SIM free of charge to all subscribers.
