Pamoja offers local and internationally hosted cloud service

Computing

Seacom's cloud services business unit Pamoja is establishing a hybrid cloud services marketplace, which consist of locally hosted and internationally hosted services, BusinessTech reported. For the  locally hosted services, Pamoja has invested in cloud computing infrastructure in South Africa and Kenya. These facilities improve access to cloud services and address the issues surrounding the location of confidential and sensitive data, as well as latency.

Complementing Pamoja's physical cloud infrastructure is access to Seacom's IP capacity throughout Africa and Europe. This allows Pamoja to deliver international cloud services, too. For the services hosted on the continent, Pamoja has teamed up with Microsoft and a number of local ISVs whose services fit the cloud model. These services are taken to market through a channel of resellers in countries such as South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
