Glo Signs Exclusive News Alert Service With Thisday, Arise News
Integrated telecommunications service provider, Globacom, has signed an exclusive Value Added Service (VAS) pact with THISDAY newspapers and Arise News, an international television news channel, to provide Globacom subscribers with exclusive news alert from THISDAY and Arise News.
Tagged ThisDay Arise News Alert, the service provides human interest, sports, business, political, lifestyle and entertainment news that can be accessed through voice, web, text and video channels to update subscribers across different age brackets.
A statement from Globacom said interested subscribers should text "Thisday" to a short code 31266 to get on the THISDAY Mobile Community for a fee of N50 per week from where they can access their preferred news categories by texting "help" to 31266.
It explained further that subscribers wishing to read breaking news on THISDAY newspaper should text TDN to 31266, while those interested in business news should text TDB to the same short code.
It urged lovers of entertainment to text TDE to 31266 while Glo subscribers wishing to read political news should text TDP to the same short code on their phones.
On the other hand, lovers of style and sports are enjoined to text TDSTYLE and TDSPORT to 31266, adding that each alert on THISDAY newspapers costs N10.
Subscribers wishing to watch news videos on Arise Television are advised to text AN to 31266; those in love with entertainment news videos should text A360 to the same short code, while subscribers who wish to watch interview videos should text AI to 31266 for the latest video interviews on the global television channel. Each video costs N20.
According to Globacom's Regional Chief Marketing Officer, Mr. Ashok Israni, the ThisDay Arise News Alert is designed for lovers of THISDAY newspapers and Arise Television channel who are on the Globacom network to get up-to-date information about happenings on the go.
He added that it was part of Globacom's provision of Value Added Services for its highly esteemed customers and an extension of the Glo Mpaper currently featuring five newspapers, namely, Vanguard, The Nation, Nigerian Tribune, Daily Times and Business Day.
