MTN has announced that it is now zero-rating all data usage for its FrontRow video streaming service on the MTN network. According to MTN, this means that MTN customers who are subscribed to FrontRow can now watch thousands of movies and TV series available on the service without incurring any data costs. “The zero rating of data will ensure that our customers can access the best entertainment on the move…without having to worry about bill shock,” MTN said. The decision to zero rate data usage comes in the backdrop of a reduction of the FrontRow subscription rates to R119.
Subscribers on the MTN network can now enjoy free incoming calls and SMSs while roaming in 15 countries across the world. The selected countries for the free incoming calls are: United Kingdom, United States of America, France, Germany, Italy, Canada, Netherlands and Belgium. Others are: Malaysia, South Africa, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Kenya and Ghana. The service requires no registration as the customers' MTN SIM automatically connects when they switch on their phones at any of the selected destinations, a statement by the company said.
