Mokolo platform for African cinema and TV goes on stream
The Mokolo website dedicated to African cinema has been launched in Dakar. It aims to strengthen the film industry and media in Africa by improving accessibility and visibility of professionals and content, through various sections and features.
The Mokolo project centralises information on African cinema and give more visibility to filmmakers and their content, said Espera Donouvossi, head of the Mokolo project. The initiators want to promote access to new technologies in the field of cinema and the audiovisual sector, through research, development and education.
The Mokolo TV platform allows Mokolo users, called Mokolizers, to create a profile and opportunities to like, comment and share information on Mokolo.TV. There is also the opportunity to post a review of a film or write a profile of an actor or a professional.
The Mokolo Pro platform, in addition to the same features of social networks as Mokolo TV, aims to become the most comprehensive database of festivals, film schools, organisations, projects and opportunities in the cinema sector in Africa. Mokolo Pro also helps professionals create their CV and a professional profile on their expertise.
