6 January 2017
The Agency for Regulation of Technology and Communication (ARTEC) has announced that after months of ongoing negotiations, it has reached an agreement for the renewal of Orange Madagascar’s mobile operating licence. The new licence will be valid for a ten-year period, and was signed on 23 November 2016 at the ARTEC headquarters.
The new licence allows the operator to offer 4G services, testing for which began taking place in November 2016. Orange Madagascar plans to roll out its LTE network gradually over the course of 2017.
