3 February 2017
The World Bank approved a USD 20 million credit to Burkina Faso to help finance the country’s ‘e-Burkina’ project, which aims to modernize government services by promoting ICT use in the public administration. Part of the National Plan for Economic and Social Development (PNDES), the project is one in a series of initiatives launched to improve the country’s digital infrastructure.
Burkina Faso is also implementing the World Bank-financed West Africa Regional Communications Infrastructure Project (WARCIP), which will provide international connectivity via a fibre-optic link between the Ghana and Ouagadougou border.
