Millicom says Africa CFO Mohamed Dabbour will be CEO after Cynthia Gordon moves on. Millicom has promoted Mohamed Dabbour to be CEO of its African operations, replacing Cynthia Gordon, who has left the company. Dabbour was CFO of the African business until this month, a position he had held since August 2015. He has been with the London-headquartered company since 2008, spending time as CFO of operations in Chad and, later, Ghana.
The Director General of Benin state-owned mobile operator Libercom was relieved of his duties on 9 February 2017, following fierce criticism of the company’s ‘mismanagement’ by the Front of National Organisations Against Corruption (Fonac). Agence Ecofin reports that Idrissou Djima, who had held the post since January 2014, was effectively blamed by Fonac for poor management of the company’s human resources and unjustified expenses.
