28 April 2017
Vodacom South Africa and the Shembe church have entered into a mutually beneficial agreement under which the Nazareth Baptist Church will distribute the company's products and services. Neither the mobile telecommunications operator nor the church revealed the value of the deal or details of how it would benefit both parties.
Vodacom says its deal with the Shembe Family Trust will include benefits such as unique financial services, training and tailored product distribution such as data. The trust’s Landile Shembe says the profits will support the congregation of nearly 7 million people.
