Algerie Telecom, ZTE ink fibre-optic deal
27 October 2017
Chinese vendor ZTE has signed a framework agreement with Algerie Telecom (AT) to jointly build a full-service GPON network which will ‘deliver a … new fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) experience’, while enabling downlink speeds of 100Mbps.
Under the agreement, ZTE will provide AT with an end-to-end turnkey service within one year, helping the operator design and build an active fibre-optic architecture while also offering network management services. It has been claimed that the project will allow the operator to upgrade its business model by offering more innovative and customised services.
