African operator Liquid Telecom announced that Ahmad Mokhles has been appointed as Group Chief Operating Officer, a new position within the group. Effective immediately, he will help drive operational excellence across the group’s thirteen countries of operation. Mokhles brings over twelve years of ICT experience to the role, having worked for some of the Middle East and Africa’s largest telecoms groups, including Orascom, Etisalat, Ooredoo and Airtel Africa. Prior to joining Liquid Telecom, he served as COO for Airtel Nigeria. Before that, he was Executive Vice President of Consumer and Digital Business for Du, overseeing the company’s Smart City business, and also served as CCO for Asiacell in Iraq, part of Ooredoo Group.
