BCX COO Michael Buttner quits after short stint

Barely four months after joining Telkom’s BCX subsidiary as chief operating officer, Michael Buttner has resigned. Telkom confirmed on Wednesday that Buttner will leave BCX’s employ at the end of the month.

SA ICT leaders mobilise for sanitary towels

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – THE administrator of South Africa’s cyberspace, ZA Central Registry (ZACR), has pledged to support 100 girls with access to sanitary towels every month for three years.

Coinciding with Women’s Month, this is in support of the Caring4Girls initiative.

It is spearheaded by a local information and communications technology (ICT) veteran, Xoliswa Kakana, who recently reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro as part of the Trek4Mandela team.

Key to the Trek4Mandela initiative is the Caring4Girls campaign that aims to keep a girl child in school by supplying them with sanitary towels.

Lucky Masilela, Chief Executive Officer of ZACR, said Kakana’s endeavour as a ZACR Non-Executive Director in the run-up to Women’s Month helped illustrate the tremendous achievements of the many women leading South Africa’s ICT sector. Read the full article on CAJ News here.
