Adiel Akplogan yesterday joined the ranks of notable individuals who have been inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame for their significant contributions to the advancement of the global Internet. Adiel Akplogan received that distinction for his contributions to the expansion and governance of the Internet in Africa, particularly as founding CEO of the Regional Internet Registry for Africa. The induction ceremony took place in San Jose, Costa Rica. Akplogan is a national of Togo and has more than 25 years of top, diversified experience in digitalisation, Internet technology (IT) and governance across Africa and beyond. He is currently Vice President for Global Technical Engagement at the Los Angeles-based Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
