* TOSHIBA AND AL FUTTAIM TECHNOLOGIES - EAST AFRICA
Toshiba recently appointed Al-Futtaim Technologies, a member of the Al-Futtaim Group’s electronics division, as distributors for its notebook PCs product range in East Africa, covering Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. The partnership aims to focus on East Africa as an emerging market with huge growth potential.
* CENTRACELL AND VIERLING COMMUNICATIONS – SOUTH AFRICA
Centracell, a local service provider for least-cost routing (LCR) solutions, and Germany-based Vierling Communications have established a distribution partnership that will offer highly advanced Digital Gateway technology, based on the Vierling suite of products.
* GLOBACOM AND RIM – NIGERIA
Globacom, Nigeria’s Second National carrier in its desire to plug into the ever innovative and fast evolving technological mobile phone market, will Wednesday launch into the Nigerian market, the BlackBerry Connect in partnership with Canadian firm, Research In Motion (RIM) and Alcatel. BlackBerry Connect will allow subscribers to choose and enjoy the feature-rich capabilities of the mobile phone together with RIM’s popular BlackBerry services
