- The European Commission and the l’Institut méditerranéen last week held a symposium to discuss the Medina (Mediterranean by Internet Access) project. With EU funding, the aim is to produce thematic sites reflecting each Mediterranean country that will allow the user to make “a virtual journey” around the Mediterranean”. The aim of the site will be to promote tourism in the region.

- As part of Google's ongoing efforts to help its users around the world find and organise their information, on Tuesday Google has introduced a Gmail interface in Arabic. Gmail users are now able to use an Arabic language interface for Gmail.
