* Alan Knott-Craig Jr has been appointed as MD of Wireless Business Solutions. Until December 2005, Knott-Craig Jr was managing director at wireless application service provider, CellFind. He says he is used to dealing with industry speculation over his familial ties to Vodacom CEO Alan Knott-Craig Sr.
*The Department of Communications of South Africa has appointed three new deputy directors general. The three appointees are Keith Shongwe, responsible for policy coordination, integration and international affairs; Harold Wesso, responsible for policy development; and Harry Mathabathe, who will serve as deputy director general for finance.
* Fujitsu has further extended its investment in South Africa by appointing Mark Clayden as a new senior customer solutions architect into its Architecture Design Group. Clayden brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience, having been an integral part of the Architecture Design Group based in the UK. As part of his role he was responsible for the design, management and deployment of one of the first UK pure VOIP call centres using both LAN and WAN architecture.
